Love this! My only thought is that I haven’t seen anyone fully sanctified and sinless in practice. Maybe they’re out there and I’m just not aware. I do strive to be that way. And CS Lewis talks about being entirely remade by Christ to be perfect.
Thanks! It's definitely a common critique of the concept of entire sanctification- the fact that it seems like nobody is actually perfect-, I would point out that just because someone has fully freed from the shackles of sin does not mean they can't sin. This is also what it seems like Wesley is communicating in sermons like "Christian Perfection" or "the scripture way of Salvation." Entire sanctification is the stage where you are completely capable of not sinning due to the Spirit's work, not necessarily the absence of sin. Babies may not be intentionally sinning right out of the womb, but they're not entirely sanctified. Thanks for commenting Ryan, it's a very reasonable critique.
Looking very much forward to reading this! I'd also highly recommend "Holiness : A Biblical, Historical, and Systematic Theology"
